Ohio winter storm blackout

(WJW) – Approximately 11,000 electrical customers in northeastern Ohio were without power as of Friday night. winter storm warning Includes over 3,500 in Geoga County and over 2,900 in Cuyahoga County.

This is down from more than 20,000 outages reported on Friday.

Blackouts by county in northeastern Ohio:

Ashland: 300+
Ashtabula: over 1,000
Colombiana: 20 and above
Cuyahoga: 2,900+
Erie: Over 1,900
Geauuga: over 3,500
Holmes: Nearly 100
Huron: 100 or more
Lakes: 200+
Lorraine: 500 or more
Mahoning: less than 10
Medina: under 30
Portage: 100+
Richland: 50 and above
Stark: 10 or more
Summit: 300+
Trumble: less than 5
Toscaraus: 0
Wayne: Over 200

FirstEnergy customers in most northeastern Ohio counties can expect power to be restored by 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the provider’s website. However, other counties like Huron and parts of Lorraine are not expected to have service restored until 11:00 p.m. on Christmas Day, December 25.

FirstEnergy and AEP meteorologists are closely monitoring winter storms.

Winter Storm Warning in effect until 7 AM Saturday. A storm warning is in effect for most of northern Ohio from Friday morning through 10 AM Saturday.
