7 things people love about Buc-ee’s, as the first Ohio location nears in Huber Heights

Last month, the Huber Heights Planning Commission greenlit a comprehensive development blueprint for Ohio’s inaugural Buc-ee’s store, slated for construction in the northeast quadrant of the city.

The store, as outlined in the plans, will feature dual access points from Ohio 235: one at the CenterPoint 70 Boulevard intersection to the north and another at the Artz Road intersection to the south. Anticipated amenities include 120 gas pumps and over 700 parking spots.

Buc-ee’s boasts a dedicated fanbase, drawn to several key aspects of its offerings:

  1. Apparel: Buc-ee’s branded merchandise spans from eclectic themed shirts bearing the iconic red and yellow circle with a beaver mascot, to bathing suits, Hawaiian shirts, socks, hats, underwear, and pajamas.
  2. Food: Known for its gastronomic offerings, Buc-ee’s features dedicated sections for burritos, tacos, a bakery, Texas meats such as brisket, sausage, turkey, and pulled pork, a variety of sweets, a renowned wall of jerky, and a selection of nuts. Most food items are packaged for convenient take-and-go consumption, as seating is typically not available.
  3. Service: Customers often praise Buc-ee’s for its exceptional service. Employees are described as welcoming and efficient, contributing to a positive shopping experience.
  4. Snacks: Buc-ee’s excels in satisfying cravings with treats like Beaver Nuggets (puffed corn nuggets with a caramel coating), gummies, taffy, fudge, and more.
  5. Knick-knacks: Each Buc-ee’s store offers a unique assortment of items ranging from full-size grills to stuffed animals and home décor, often featuring localized themes.
  6. Fuel: With some locations boasting up to 120 fuel pumps, Buc-ee’s appeals not only for its extensive range but also for offerings like ethanol-free fuel and diesel exhaust fluid.
  7. Restrooms: Renowned for their cleanliness and spaciousness, Buc-ee’s restrooms have garnered acclaim, making them a notable draw for visitors.

The approval of the development plan marks a significant step forward for bringing the distinctive Buc-ee’s experience to Huber Heights, promising to attract both local patrons and travelers alike.
