SPENCERVILLE — Ray Settlemire celebrated his 90th birthday in a children-sponsored open house at the Agape Fellowship in Spencerville with family and friends.
Settlemire was born on September 2, 1931 in Harold and Doris Settlemire in Lima. On June 10, 1961, he married Rose Settlemire, who died on January 5, 2020.
He has seven children, Joyce (Chad) Glia of Spencerville. Linda (Gary) Daily, Wapaconeta; Serena’s David (Wanda) Setrumia. Troy’s Chris Monroe. Brian (Bethbauersock) Setrumia, Spencerville; Richard (Leo) Setrumia in Chicago and Michael (Grace Galimore) Setrumia in Spencerville. He has 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Settlemire retired after 54 and a half years at Trim Trends in Spencerville as a tool and mold maker. He and his wife have owned and operated R & R engine services for over 20 years. He was also a part-time peasant. Ray enjoys riding his bike almost every day for work, and he traveled the United States with his wife on the Honda Gold Wing. Ray loves spending time with family, friends, church family, and especially great-grandchildren.
