11-year-old boy arrested after making threats to Dayton school

RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) — An 11-year-old boy was arrested after a threat was made to the East Dayton Christian School, according to the Riverside Police Department.

East Dayton Christian School just before 6:00am on Monday, April 3rd Posted on Facebook The school will be closed for the day because “the Riverside Police Department is currently investigating the threat.”

The threat to the East Dayton Christian School was called overnight, according to the Riverside Police Department.

An 11-year-old boy has since been arrested and charged with inducing panic. Riverside Police said additional charges could be filed by Montgomery County prosecutors.

This is coming after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 462 into law, establishes “swatting” (deliberately reporting false or misleading information to first responders) as a unique crime.
