FORT WAYNE, IN (Inside Indiana Business) – Fort Wayne’s Rescue Mission has appointed Thomas McArthur as its next president and CEO, succeeding Donovan Coley. Until recently, MacArthur served as executive director of The Chapel, a nondenominational church with 10 locations in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

In his previous role, MacArthur oversaw the annual operating budget, strategic planning, program planning, and day-to-day operations of the Illinois-based nonprofit.

He has built community partnerships with local police, city councils, and local school districts to increase community engagement and achieve program goals.

Rescue Mission Board Chairman James Swift said, “With his strong leadership abilities and years of executive experience, Rescue Mission will continue to change lives through the love of Jesus Christ.” You will be privileged to build on the very strong foundation secured by Corey’s dedication, and the Board congratulates and delights these two leaders on working together to advance the rescue mission to the next chapter. I’m here.”

MacArthur will take office on Monday and spend the next two months working with Corey to ensure a smooth transition, according to Rescue Mission.

Coley has been on the mission for 15 years and led the $20 million capital campaign and construction of a new rescue mission to open in 2020.

“With Thomas at the helm, we are filled with excitement and confidence that the Rescue Mission is at the apex of incredible growth and progress. I’m excited about it,” Corey said.
