Today is that day. The Mahindra XUV700 will finally reach its world premiere today at 4 pm (IST). Just the day before India’s 75th Independence Day. Marking a generational shift from the original XUV500, the XUV700 has long been awaited and will be available this festive season as action in the three-row SUV space intensifies.

Spy image leaked a few days ago I have confirmed that the Mahindra XUV700 is taking from where the last XUV500 was interrupted. It features a similar square grille with vertical chrome highlights and angled LED headlights, a more exaggerated interpretation of the fan-shaped extension typical of the XUV500. The flash fitting door handle is segment first and the SUV seems to have 18 inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the angled theme follows the rear with a complete LED taillight, and the black-filled columns create a floating roof effect.

Mahindra also previously revealed some important details about the interior and feature list of the Mahindra XUV700, including a fairly clear look of the dashboard. The highlight here is the twin-screen layout, which is reminiscent of modern Mercedes. There is a fully digitized instrument cluster, a bespoke Sony 3D sound system, with a touch screen unit running a new operating system that Mahindra calls “Adreno X.” The system integrates Alexa-based voice commands with drive modes named “Zip,” “Zap,” and “Zoom” (for diesel XUV700 only).

Other features such as a large panoramic sunroof, driver fatigue warning system, air filter and individual safety message are already known. The XUV700 will also be equipped with certain Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

This Mahindra XUV700 is based on a new monocoque architecture. The SUV will be equipped with the same engine that debuted in the second generation Mahindra Thar, but in a different tuning state. Approximately 190 hp, approximately 350 Nm 2.0 liter stallion turbo gasoline and 2.2 liter m Hawk. Diesel with a torque of over 400 Nm and close to 190 horsepower. Both engines may come with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. Mahindra has also confirmed that the AWD system will be available as an option.

Mahindra XUV700 uses Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar. The price of the Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be in the range of 160,000 to 230,000 rupees (in front of the showroom).
