At Independence Village on 345 Rear Roads on Avon Lake, residents were able to enjoy light meals and sunlight while rushing through Lamborghini.
As part of a series of Italian-themed festivals, Independence Village, a living community for the elderly, chose an Italian sports car as a complement to June 15.
Emily Goers, Director of Senior Life Enrichment at Independence Village, said:
The event was originally scheduled for June 2nd, but due to the weather it was postponed until June 15th.
Goers considered it a perfect activity, as many inhabitants are car enthusiasts.
“We just wanted them to go cruising, get some fresh air and have fun,” she said.
Lamborghini was provided by 7th Gear Exotics in Groveport.
The management team took turns chasing the seniors on the lake road for 10 minutes by car.
“We want to give them the best opportunity in their lives, which is as fun as our staff going out and cruising,” Goers said.
A year after she wasn’t open to the public due to a new coronavirus pandemic or wasn’t capable of hosting many activities, she said she was looking forward to doing more with her residents. Told.
“It’s a combination of enjoying simple things like having a picnic in the sun and then pulling them away from the comfort zone,” she said.
She said she believed that the inhabitants were not only the audience for such events, but also the main decision makers.
“Our inhabitants inspire us. We wanted to bring something that we might not have thought they had the opportunity to do.”
In addition to the 10-minute joy ride, residents were offered an assortment of peach bellini and light meals before ending the day with an Italian feast.
