Balanced 5G Phones with Cheaper Alternatives-Technology News, Firstpost

If you think you’re the only one trying to find the right phone to buy on a budget of 15-20k, you’re probably not the only one. In fact, as a journalist who reads and writes about smartphones all day long, I can’t keep track of all smartphones with the same name, the same specifications, and the same price.

Moreover, Samsung’s M-series itself can be quite confusing. There are M10, M20, M30, M40 and M50. All of these are priced between Rs10,000 and Rs25,000, with the M10 series being the most affordable and the M50 being the most premium in the lot.

In particular, the Galaxy M42 5G is Samsung’s first smartphone in the M series released with a 5G connection. It’s also Samsung’s most affordable smartphone with 5G support.

Therefore, before digging deeper into smartphone reviews, first ask yourself two questions:

Am I especially looking for a 5G smartphone?

You should read on, especially if you are considering buying a 5G-enabled phone.

The Samsung Galaxy M425G is one of the few options out there if you’re looking for a 5G smartphone with a budget of less than 25k.

However, if 5G is not important to your smartphone needs, we would like to respect your time. See Samsung Galaxy M32 or M31, Galaxy M51, Galaxy F62, Poco X3 Pro, OnePlus Nord / Nord CE. , Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Motorola G60, iQoo 3, Mi10i or Realme X3 Super Zoom.

How long do you want to continue using your next smartphone?

Currently, India is testing 5G connectivity, but it is still far from nationwide deployment. This means that you won’t get the exact benefits of 5G support on your smartphone unless your network provider provides that connection.

If you tend to upgrade to new smartphones frequently, you can choose a non-5G smartphone now and switch to a 5G smartphone when technology becomes available. However, if you want to use your smartphone for a couple of years at a time, it makes sense to consider a 5G-enabled device.

By 2022, 5G services will be available in India. The national availability of 5G connectivity can be time consuming as we are still struggling with 4G networks in many rural and urban areas.

At this point, you may want to know more about the Galaxy M425G. Let’s dig deeper.

Large display, design and size

The Samsung Galaxy M425G features a 6.6-inch sAMOLED HD + display and produces excellent colors, but the low resolution makes it a bit frustrating.

The smartphone display has a large screen-to-body ratio, making it fun to watch videos and movies on your device. However, a large screen size also means a large form factor. However, Samsung’s characteristic rather long design makes mobile phones relatively easy to hold. For people with small hands like me and women (like me) I still need pockets on my clothes, It may take some time to get used to the size of the phone.

In terms of appearance, the Galaxy M42 is decent. There’s nothing special about the design, but the “prism” effect of the phone gives it a bit of life.

You need to warn against the “glass” back of the phone, which acts like a magnet of dust and dirt. If you’re worried about any dust, you’ll need to clean the edges around the slightly protruding square camera module on the back daily.

Cell phone battery is a survivor

The Galaxy M42 5G has a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging. The smartphone comes bundled with a 15W charger.

The average screen time per day, including the use of work apps, social media apps, and even camera apps, was 4-5 hours, and the Galaxy M425G easily lasted for more than a day.

Even while playing games, the cell phone battery lasted for at least a day.

However, it takes time to charge the phone. When the battery was dead, the charger took an hour to raise the phone up to 50 percent. If you look at other smartphones in this segment, you’ll find devices bundled with fast charging up to 33W.

Smooth performer

The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G processor with 6 GB RAM. The combination seems to work pretty well on smartphones.

I used my device with all my regular social media and work apps installed, but never had any delays, stutters, or delays in loading the apps. I played two games on this phone – Mortal Kombat And Crash Bandicoot.. Both games ran very smoothly, the graphics looked good, and the swipes, jumps and kicks were pretty responsive.

After playing the game for a while, I experienced the upper half of the device getting hot, even after using the camera for more than 20-30 minutes (especially in video mode). But it didn’t get hot enough to be annoying.

The camera will not disappoint (except in dark places)

The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G has a 48 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5 MP depth sensor, and a 5 MP macro camera.

The camera on the Galaxy M42 5G (almost) impressed me.

Daytime shots on the phone are pretty good. Like most Samsung phones, camera AI supersaturates and boosts image colors, but most of the time you’ll love the results when shooting images for social media.

Close-up / macro photography is also pretty decent. At a distance of 4-5 cm, the camera focuses on the subject easily and quickly. Anything closer than 4 cm requires a very stable camera.

The Galaxy M42 5G’s daylight selfie (using a 20 MP camera on the phone) is a sharp, punchy color. By default, selfie cameras have a “beauty filter” turned on.

You will only notice the noise if you switch the rear camera to wide-angle or use it for shooting in dark places. Also, shooting slow motion video in dark places can significantly reduce quality.

The Galaxy M42 5G also supports 4K video, but due to the less stable video, the results are strictly average.

But overall it’s a great smartphone, but with the addition of 5G connectivity, consider that the price tag of Rupee 21,999 still feels unfair, especially if Samsung cuts out some corners on the HD + display. need to do it.

For the same price range, Samsung’s proprietary Galaxy M32 or M31, Galaxy M51, and Galaxy F62 are excellent alternatives. And if you’re looking for a smartphone other than Samsung, the Poco X3 Pro, OnePlus Nord / Nord CE, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Motorola G60, iQoo 3, Mi 10i, or Realme X3 Super Zoom are all great alternatives.
