Biles wins bronze medal, McLaughlin sets world record in 400 meters hurdles

The United States won six medals in athletics on Tuesday, including two gold. And this is the second time an American woman has won a gold medal in wrestling.

Simone Biles Win a bronze medal on balance beam Tuesday, Her first and only personal medal at the Tokyo Olympics. The American gymnast finished behind Chinese gold medalist Guan Chenchen and silver medalist Tang Xijing.

A week after withdrawing from several competitions to focus on mental health, Biles drilled a slightly modified routine with a double-pike disembarkation-no twist.

Today, Biles has won seven medals in two Olympics, with Americans most associated with Shannon Miller to date.

On the track, American Sydney McLaughlin broke her own world record to win the women’s 400-meter hurdles in 51.46 seconds. She defeated Dalilah Muhammad. Dalilah Muhammad won the silver medal and finished in US1-2.

Athing Mu won the US 800-meter gold medal at the first Olympics after leading almost from start to finish. Britain’s Keeley Hodgkinson won the silver medal, and American Raven Rogers won the bronze medal at the finish line out of nowhere.

American Gabeat Thomas won the bronze medal in the women’s 200 meters. Elaine Thompson-Jamaica Hera won the gold medal and Namibian Christine Mboma won the silver medal.

Chris Nilsen of the United States won the silver medal in the men’s pole vault with a personal best of 5.97 meters. Armand Duplantis of Sweden won gold at a height of 6.02 meters.

Tamira Mencer-American Stock defeated Nigeria’s Blessing Oboruddu 4-1 in the women’s 68-kilogram freestyle wrestling final, winning the second Olympic gold medal in history for an American female wrestler.

The American men’s basketball team advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Spain. They will face Australia next. And the US women’s water polo team easily defeated Canada to advance to the semi-finals.
