Bridgeport students give back to teachers and staff

Belmont County, Ohio (WTRF) – Dedicated teachers and staff often make a huge impact on students’ lives. But sometimes their long hours and hard work go unnoticed.

Well, today several student-athletes from one local high school expressed a big thank you to the people who have inspired them over the years.

Senior members of the Bridgeport youth basketball team, cheerleaders, and bowling team spent the day. They roamed the corridors, delivering personal messages to the teachers and staff who have inspired them over the years.

They delivered handwritten letters and gave them jerseys in honor of their dedication.

“The idea is that it doesn’t have to be a teacher or a coach or something you see every day. It could be someone like a janitor. It could be the bus driver who drove you to school every day.” and may help emphasize that everyone has a big role to play in your education.”

Emma Pittner, Senior Bridgeport Bowling Team

“Sometimes teachers really don’t know the impact they have on us. And we were able to show them that we were influencing what they were doing for us.”

Madison Criswell, Senior Cheerleader, Bridgeport HS

“It’s good to see the realization that his teacher really impacts our lives as students and start spreading this to the community.”

Colin Jackson, Sr., Bridgeport Boys Basketball

Earlier this week, a senior member of the girls’ basketball team delivered a jersey to someone who inspired them during their school days. The wrestling team seniors will be delivering theirs sometime next week.
