Fort Wayne, Indiana (WOWO): Mayor Tom Henry signed an executive order on Thursday to partner with Catholic Charities to establish a Fort Wayne Community ID Card.
Henry said the purpose of this card is “to provide ID to people who have trouble getting other forms of photo ID.” According to the city, the advantage of this card is that it assists individuals in tasks such as accessing Fort Wayne’s services and interacting with the police station.
Community ID cards do not replace or effectively replace your Indiana ID or driver’s license. It also cannot be used as a voting ID.
If you would like a card, please contact Catholic Charities (260) 422-5625. Reservations are required and the card costs $ 25 for adults aged 18-64 and $ 20 for seniors under the age of 17 or over 65, according to people familiar with the matter.
