Chucky Hepburn overtakes No. 2 Wisconsin, overtakes No. 3 Liberty

Chucky Hepburn scored a career-high 27 points and Max Kressmit scored all seven points as Wisconsin beat Liberty 75-71 in the second round of the NIT on Sunday in Madison, Wisconsin. .

The second-seeded Badgers (19-14) advanced to the quarterfinals against the winners of first-seeded Oregon (20-14) and Central Florida (19-15).

Wisconsin went on a winning streak for the first time since January 3, with Tyler Wall scoring 16 and Stephen Kroll scoring 14. The Badgers beat Bradley in his NIT opener, he went 81-62.

Kroll was called for an offensive foul, his fourth with 10:35 remaining, and McGee fought back with a 3-pointer from the top to put the Flames up 61-54.

Hepburn and Kroll scored a combined 33 points in the first half and Wisconsin had a 37–34 lead at the break.

Hepburn scored 19 points in the first half, shooting 7-of-11 and shooting 5-of-7 from the line. Kroll, who scored his career-high 36 points against Bradley, scored 14 at the break to make him 7-for-8.
