Columbus police officer died after being infected with COVID-19

Columbus, Ohio — According to the Fraternal Order of Police, a Columbus police officer died of COVID-19.

James Strozik, 49, has been working at the Columbus Police Station since 2004.

In a social media post, the department stated that Strozyk was “a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.”

He spent his entire 17-year career in Columbus.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

The department confirmed that the co-pilot was tested positive for the virus March 2020, Near the beginning of the pandemic.

Frank Duff, a Columbus firefighter, died last month after being infected with COVID-19. He worked in the department for 27 years.
