Columbus, Ohio — The city of Columbus is approaching to set a murder record for the second year in a row.
John David Moore Jr. recorded the 165th murder in the city this year.
His two sisters, Xandra Wilson and Shronne Moore-Williams, said they were out of town when they received a tragic call.
“That’s terrible. As a brother, you never think of receiving such a call,” Wilson said.
Columbus police say Moore was there Shot and killed on Friday morning In his own backyard.
“We were actually in Florida on our way home from the trip, and we learned that he died at the airport,” Moore-Williams said.

He died at the Grant Medical Center. Still, what keeps his two sisters moving is memories from people he knew in the community.
“When I hear a lot about him in the community, I’m like a man … so it would be great if they were here, of course, when I heard a lot of positive things about someone. But I love hearing it, “Moore Williams said.
Moore-Williams goes to his house in Linden every day. Linden is the community he really wanted.
“It can happen to your son. It can happen to your brother. We as a community we actually take it and turn it into some action. I want to bear it, “Wilson said.
Moore’s funeral is Saturday. Viewing begins at noon and continues at 2:00 pm at the Jordanian Bible Church.
