Woman convicted of breaking into Ohio home and wrestling with elderly homeowner

Youngstown, Ohio (WKBN) — Female Accused of breaking into an elderly woman’s home and wrestling with her He was sentenced to at least five years in prison by Mahoning County Common Petitions Court on Friday.

Nicole Corbett, 44, was sentenced by Judge R. Scott Critchbaum to five to seven and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree felony robbery.

The indictment stems from his arrest after police were called to a single-digit block on Leah Avenue around 8:30 am on December 14 to report a loitering. When they arrived, they were greeted by a woman who was inside the house and wrestled with someone who was trying to take jewelry from her bedroom.

As the woman lay down, she reportedly received an alert from her camera system that someone was home. She called her 911 and when she found a police officer in front of her door, she went to answer it. According to reports, she found her bedroom ransacked by another woman, later identified as Corbett.

The two women fought and were also reportedly caught on video scratching and pulling her hair before Corbett managed to escape. was detained on a cruiser.

She was arrested after police reviewed the video and compared it to Corbett, the report says.

Reportedly, Corbett didn’t take anything out of the house.
