Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run crash Saturday

The driver struck the 77-year-old bicyclist from behind and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle is described as a late-90s to early-2000s small, white pickup truck.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A bicyclist is recovering from their injuries after a late-night hit-skip crash Saturday in downtown Toledo.

The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release from the Toledo Police Department.

The victim, who police described as a 77-year-old bicyclist, was traveling southbound on Summit Street near 300 Madison Ave. in the curb lane when they were hit from behind by a vehicle heading in the same direction.

The driver then fled from the scene after the crash. The suspect vehicle is a late-90s to early-2000s small, white pickup truck, according to police.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with what police believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.
