Bruins overtake Ducks on David Pastnerk’s hat-trick

David Pasternack scored his 13th career hat-trick Sunday night as part of a four-point performance as the Boston Bruins beat the hosts Anaheim Ducks 7-1.

Pasternak scored three goals and added an assist to help pace the Bruins. The Bruins swept his three-game road trip in California before he improved to 11-0-3 in the last 14 games. Pastranak became his third player in the NHL to reach 30 goals this season.

Trevor Zegras scored the lone goal and John Gibson stopped back-to-back winning Anaheim’s 35 shots.

Darcy Kemper made 38 saves and led Washington to a shutout at Columbus.

Kemper leads the NHL with four shutouts this season. Eric Gustafsson had his shot hit the skate of Columbus defenseman Timvarni just below the circle at 2:43 of the first period and deflected between the legs of goaltender Elvis Melzlikins for one. Jake Guentzel scored twice to give Pittsburgh a sixth straight loss in Tempe over hosts Arizona.

Max Domme scored the match winner at 1:04 into extra time, as Lucas Rachel scored a goal and two assists to propel hosts Chicago to Calgary.

Domi took a knee in the offensive zone but maintained control of the puck and dropped the pass behind him. Rachel feeds it back to Domi, who crashes the net to score the crucial goal.

Alex Sturrock stopped 44 shots to contribute to Chicago’s winning streak for the first time since October. Chicago was ahead of him 47-25, but beat out skating Calgary in the opener of a five-game road trip.
