Dustin Hoffman leads the cast of “Sam & Kate”.
The 83-year-old actor will appear in a comedy drama with his sons Jake Hoffman, Sissy Spacek and Schuyler Fisk.
Darren Le Gallo has made his debut as a writer and director on this project. He also produces with Ben Shields Katrin, Orian Williams, Ford Corbett and Cindy Blue. Amy Adams and Stacy O’Neill are executive producers of Bond Group Entertainment.
The film is a life-affirming story set in a small town in the heart of the country. Dustin plays Bill. Bill is a life-sized father who is being cared for by Sam (Jake Hoffman) who has returned home to take care of his sick father.
While returning home, Sam falls to a local woman, Kate (Fisk), while Bill has a romantic interest in her mother, Tina (Spacek). The four are forced to confront their past while trying to exercise new love in their lives.
Williams said: “Darren’s heartfelt script brings a family experience to the screen in a whole new way.”
Volition Media Partners will fund Bankside Films to handle overseas sales as the film heads to the Virtual Cannes market next week.
Stephen Kelliher of Bankside Films said:
“In a world where we crave connection and attribution, viewers around the world love to see this uplifting, life-affirming story unfold.”
