FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WOWO) – Officers arrested a man early Sunday morning after a standoff with police.
The incident occurred around 2:36 am when a woman called Dispatch in Fort Wayne saying she was having a domestic argument with her boyfriend who was drinking. She revealed that 30 minutes before her call, her boyfriend threatened to shoot her. Her boyfriend then ran outside her house and shot her, then went back inside her house and beat her, and the woman went to a nearby gas station and called the police.
officers with Fort Wayne Police Department We headed to a residence that was in an apartment complex on the 4300 block of Joshua Lane. On the way, police officers learned that the man, Lashawn King, had a superior warrant.
After police arrived, they tried to contact King on his mobile phone and loudspeaker, but there was no response. At approximately 3:55 am, the Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team and Air Service Unit were dispatched to the scene.
Officers evacuated the surrounding apartment neighbors to safety.
The Crisis Response Team also attempted to contact King, but received no response. A policeman decides to obtain a warrant so that he can enter the residence.
At about 7:11 am, King left the apartment through the front door.
No suspects or police officers were injured in the incident.
