Enes Kanter hosts a free basketball camp and vaccination clinic in Columbus

Columbus, Georgia (WRBL) – Columbus welcomed a very special basketball guest on Friday. Enes Kanter at the Portland Trail Blazers Center hosted a free basketball camp at the KBW Boys Home Gym. The basketball camp was also the location of a free vaccination clinic.

Kanter has partnered with Prospect AMEC’s Faith To Table organization to organize the entire event. The NBA’s 10-year veteran was a little shocked to see in Columbus. Why did he choose the fountain city? He says he enjoys places like this because he wants to make sure that every kid has the opportunity to enjoy interacting with NBA players.

“Many NBA players can go to Los Angeles or Miami or go to these basketball camps in Hawaii for a vacation. But for me it’s important to visit every state and every city. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, as every kid deserves to play basketball with a smile. It’s valuable, especially for NBA players, so it’s a good idea to go out and smile on people’s faces. It’s very important, “says Canter.

After a free camp in Columbus, he headed south to Albany, Georgia.
