Exciting Free Summer Events Along the Scioto River in Downtown Columbus

Summer has arrived along the Scioto, and Downtown Columbus is buzzing with a plethora of free events all season long.

Downtown Columbus Inc. has unveiled this year’s summer lineup of events along the Scioto River, promising an array of free community programming. From musical performances to kayaking adventures and fountain activities, there’s something for everyone.

One highlight of the program is the reopening of the Scioto Mile Fountain, which welcomed visitors back during Memorial Day weekend after a year of construction. For more details on these exciting events, click here.

    • Tuesdays from June 11 to Aug. 20 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
    • Family-friendly activities including games, inflatables, COSI van, and more.
    • Free Fountainside Fun
  • Bicentennial Park, 233 Civic Center Dr
    • Mondays and Thursdays from June 3 to Aug. 12 (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
    • Live musical performances, tabletop games, and more.
    • Free Kayak Days
  • Boat launch under Main Street Bridge near Bicentennial Park
    • July 13 and Aug. 10 (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
    • Free Midway on the Mile
  • Rich Street Bridge
    • July 12, July 13, Aug. 10, and Aug. 11 (12 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
    • Carnival-style fun with obstacle courses, wipeout attractions, roller rinks, and putt-putt courses.
    • Wednesdays on the Water
