Crop Comments: After their first stumbling block in over a month, Lake Catholic quickly recovered by sweeping Beaumont and Coventry to clinch the Crown Conference title. The Cougars also recorded wins over his two losing teams earlier in the season. They’re going to be a difficult out in the postseason. …The NDCL remains strong in two slots against the team in state polls as he only lost to Magnificat in the final game of the regular season after a 4-1 stretch. … After finishing an undefeated conference campaign, Chardon added his last one win against Nordonia, surpassing 20 wins of the season. … Gilmore finished the season with four straight wins in all sweeps, including D-II top seed Girard. … After a first-set victory over Lakeview, Kirtland stumbled in his next two frames. However, the Hornets recovered, took his last two sets and came out victorious, marking their 20th win. … Kenston picked up momentum with a win over Madison and quickly recovered from a loss to Chardon. … Hawken ended his CVC Chagrin campaign undefeated with his 3-1 victory over Chagrin Falls. …Riverside finished his season as a regular, dominating North to claim his 3rd place in his WRC. … No team enters the postseason as smoothly as Perry and Mentor. Both have won his five-game winning streak, with the Pirates dropping his three sets in the meantime. The Cardinals have his three shutouts, including against Berkshire, and his five-set win against Beaumont, which closed out the regular season.
