Kirkland further explained how the radiation of people traveling in the highlands causes cellular senescence, but in part it is also caused by weightlessness and high g-force.

His research would not have been possible without the willingness of the four civilian astronauts to take part in this historic trip.

One of them is Larry Connor, a Dayton businessman. He recently visited Dr. Kirkland in his lab in Minnesota.
