1 dead after shooting in southeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police have identified a man who was shot Saturday in the Livingston Park neighborhood.

Police said the shooting happened just before 12:10 p.m. in the 600 block of South 22nd Street. When officers arrived, they found 36-year-old James Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Firefighters transported Jones to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. 

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation with another individual. No suspect information has been released at this time.
