Vaccine requirements for Ohio schools remain unchanged despite CDC vote

Bruce Vanderhoff, M.B.A., Director of the Ohio Department of Health, issued the following statement today.

“The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization (ACIP) recommends adding the COVID-19 vaccine to children’s vaccine regimens or schedules, but does not mandate this vaccine for school children.

“Ohio law determines vaccines required for school attendance. See Ohio Revision Code 3313.671.

“Ohio does not require COVID-19 vaccination for school attendance. The ACIP vote will not change Ohio law. I can do it.”
