Toledo, Ohio — Next month, people will begin rappelling on the side of Promedica in downtown Toledo, raising funds to help cancer patients and their families through the Victory Center.
One of the people who goes “cross the edge” is Nicole Reamsnyder.
In October 2020, when the mammogram returned abnormally, Ream Snyder’s regular medical examination turned into a life-changing promise.
“It was a much longer journey than I had imagined,” she said.
Avid hikers and runners were told she had breast cancer.
“Obviously it wasn’t the news I wanted to hear, but strangely I think it was peaceful,” she said. “What happens for all is that I always lived, but it was really hard to talk to my kids and my parents.”
With three surgeries followed by two mastectomy, she is preparing for the final reconstructive surgery.
Reamsnyder said her family and friends are her greatest support system. Many of them by donating money to help her push the limits Victory Center — An organization that is with her at every stage.
“From support groups to classes, massages to reflexology to healing touches, it’s not the place you’ll need, but if you need it, you’ll be there with your arms outstretched,” said Reamsnyder. I will talk. Said.
