Truck hits Willoughby police cruiser on highway

Willoughby, Ohio (WJW) – Police in Willoughby had a close call on Christmas morning when a driver crashed into a police car.

Police in Willoughby were helping a driver after an accident on State Route 2, east of Lost Nation Road, when the driver of a pickup truck that spun out of control hit him, investigators said. I noticed it rushing towards me.

A 2001 Toyota Tundra collided with the passenger side of the police car as the officer tried to escape by jumping over the median wall.

Neither the policeman nor the 63-year-old driver were injured, but both vehicles were incapacitated.

The driver turned himself in for failing to control the vehicle.
