Injuries reported after Elida Road accident

LIMA — Several people were taken to the hospital after two vehicles collided on Elida Road on Tuesday.

According to the American Township Police Department, police officers were notified of the accident at around 2:30 pm at 3500 blocks on Elida Road before Lima News. The crash involved a silver Chevrolet SUV and a dark Honda 4-door sedan. The sedan caused great damage to the front of the vehicle, but the SUV showed damage to the passenger side of the vehicle, and when viewed from the passenger’s window, the side impact airbag was seen to be deployed.

American Township police officers at the scene confirmed that the injured had occurred and were transported to the hospital via an ambulance at the American Township Fire Department, but did not disclose the number of transports. A man in a Honda sedan could later be seen on a stretcher and in an ambulance.

American Township Policeand Fire and Allen County Sheriff’s Office first responders were on-site for about an hour with the Able Towing crew.
