Is there a booster shot of the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine? | Monica Medical Michelgas

Hello Monica,

What about booster shots for those who got Moderna or Johnson & Johnson?

Currently, boosters are only approved for people who have been vaccinated with Pfizer vaccine.

Fortunately, the effectiveness of the Moderna vaccine seems to last longer than Pfizer.

The bad news, Johnson & Johnson is falling among all ages. The one-shot dose of J & J was initially about 76% effective.

The company recently released preliminary data showing that efficacy jumped to 94% after a second dose a few months later. However, at this time, it has not been approved for the second dose.

That said, some experts advise people to talk to their doctor about their options.
