Furious Ohio men barricaded their burning homes and refused the fire department.help

Zanesville, Ohio (WTRF) — Men in Zanesville, Ohio barricaded themselves inside a burning home on Sunday, refusing help from the local fire department. With When time Recorder.

Muskingham County Sheriff Matt Lutz said he received a call around 2 p.m. Sunday about a house fire on Coopermill Road.

According to reports, when the South Zanesville Fire Department arrived at the residence, the homeowner allegedly threatened the firefighters and refused them entry into the home.

He then barricaded the door and stayed inside as the fire was still going on, prompting the sheriff’s office to also respond to the scene.

The sheriff said the man’s sister and friend, along with negotiators, were called to the scene and eventually removed the barricades to allow firefighters access.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the hotspot.

According to Lutz, the house had no electricity or gas, and the cause of the fire is unknown. It was said that smoke was coming out of the eaves.

Lutz said the man was taken to a local hospital for a physical and mental examination. He has not been arrested and has not been charged.
