The application deadline is July 31st.
To qualify, a company must be 51% owned, managed, operated and controlled by a woman. It should also be headquartered in Ashtabula, Carroll, Kaiyahoga, Erie, Goga, Harrison, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorraine, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tascalawas and Wayne counties.
Ten finalists will be selected by SCORE representatives. The finalist will present a 4-minute pitch and field question for 6 minutes. The final award will be selected by a jury of five, including three local female business owners and two KeyBank bankers.
“Our goal is not only to fund the growth of the winner’s business, but also to provide business guidance at the request of applicants,” Jill Becker, Vice Chairman of SCORE Cleveland, said in a statement. Northeast Ohio will contribute to our overall job growth and economy. “
SCORE provides mentoring to applicants regarding submission and presentation requirements. After the contest is over, all applicants will have access to mentoring.
Key4Women Chair Rachael Sampson said the contest will provide “two important supports, mentorship and capital, that women-owned businesses often struggle to find and seek.”
