Volunteers Stay ‘Floating’ at CASA’s 2nd Annual Kayak

Wheeling, West Virginia (WTRF) – Fifty kayakers paddled to the surface today down Wheeling Creek for a legitimate purpose.

2^nd The annual CASA Kayak brings the community embers together, begins with a morning of yoga and then kayaks from Coal Bridge in Marshall County to U.S. Legion Post #1 in Wheeling with the help of Southpaw Outfitters. had a fun family day out.

The fun didn’t end there for the participants. The American Legion had food, Tripps Fun Zone games, and live music featuring The New Age Adenas.

“I love how our community is coming together. We had 50 kayakers today and Mother Nature wasn’t very kind. We cut it short and enjoyed the day, and a big thank you to the volunteers and board members who helped make sure everyone floated safely.”

Casa for children is an advocacy agency that provides quality volunteers to abused and neglected children involved in the court system with the goal of being placed in a safe, permanent home in a timely manner.

All funds raised will go directly to the children in foster homes and will be used to provide fostering materials for foster families and train CASA volunteers.
