Bobcats celebrate fall 2022 graduation

About 1,000 students participated Family of Ohio University Alumni At the start of Fall 2022.

A ceremony honoring both undergraduate and graduate students was held on Saturday, December 10, at the Convocation Center in Athens.

Carrie Cooper, member of the Ohio University Board of Trustees, convened the opening ceremony and welcomed all bobcats and their families before introducing the Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC members to showcase the colors.

“When you became a bobcat, each of you brought a unique background, culture, and experience to join our university community. I want to thank you for being a bobcat.

President Sherman also introduced Dr. Nuket Sandal, Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Associate Professor of Political Science. starting speakerSandal is an award-winning teacher, respected researcher, and expert in foreign policy, international conflict, and Middle East politics.

Sandals emphasized to the graduates both the importance of relationships and making time for personal relationships, even when life is busy.

“As you build bridges and nurture healthy, strong relationships, I hope you will always remember how much you are loved at home at Ohio University,” Sandals said. We look forward to working with you to help guide the next generation of bobcats.”
