Ohio University will bring three candidates for the next executive vice president and provost to campus from March 20 to March 29 for interviews and a public forum. The first candidates will arrive on campus on March 20th and 21st, the second candidates on March 26th and 27th, and the third candidates on March 28th and 29th.
Once details of the public forum are finalized, they will be announced to the university community. All members of the community are invited to participate in the public forum, either in person or virtually.
Last fall, President Lori Stewart Gonzalez announced a search The next vice president and governor of Ohio. This process is expected to be completed by the end of the spring semester.
The investigation committee is led by the following co-chairs:
- John McCarthy, Chair and Professor, Department of Communication Disorders, College of Health Sciences and Professions
- Sarah Wyatt, College of Arts and Sciences Senate Chair and Professor of Environmental Plant Biology
Elizabeth Sayers currently serves as executive vice president and provost. Appointed in March 2020 for a three-year term. In accordance with the faculty handbook, a national search for this position was originally planned for the end of the semester. However, due to the pandemic and a change in university leadership, Sayers’ term will be extended until June 2024. To bring stability to the university at a critical time.
