Anniversary postmarked by Ohio student

Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) — A postmark made by an Auglaize County student is now available to the public.

Ashton Kohler was in sixth grade at Wapaconeta Middle School and created the county’s anniversary postmark, according to the partners at . sydney daily newsThe Auglaize County Memorial Day Commission says postmarks are considered official, but are not valid stamps for use when mailing letters or other mail.

The postmark date is Tuesday, February 14th, so it is not eligible for mailing purposes. Instead, it is intended to be used as a keepsake for purposes other than mailing.

If you wish to purchase, we recommend that you bring an envelope, paper, etc. to receive the postmark.

Residents can stop by any of the nine Post Offices in Auglaize County to receive an official anniversary postmark. Our partner said those interested should drop by the post office before her April 14th to pick it up.
