Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) — 1 dead, 2 in custody after Dayton shooting.

Dayton Police Case Commander Major Chris Marson told 2 NEWS that one person was killed and two were in custody. The first was detained at the Dayton scene and the second was detained in Centreville.

Maj. Marson said authorities were initially alerted to a fight at 11:20 a.m., but it was later changed to shooting and then shooting. When police arrived on the scene, shots were fired, but not the officers.

Marson said police treated the incident as a shooter. Five civilians who were not involved were safely evacuated from the building, the major said.

According to two NEWS reporters, a heavy police presence was seen near the 400 block of Linden Avenue in Dayton.
