Lions donate to Vantage-Lima News

VAN WERT — Union Township Lions Club in Decatur, Indiana donated two sets of concrete picnic table foam to the Van Wert Career Center.

The club has been creating picnic tables for fundraising for 35 years, but a decrease in the number of clubs and an increase in the age of members contributed to the decision to discontinue fundraising. The club has decided to donate the table form to the Vantage Career Center Construction Equipment Technology program.

These tables will be used by Vantage to raise classroom expenses and donate tables to local parks. Many tables built by the Lions Club are located throughout the Decatur area.

The Union Township Lions Club hopes that this donation will support Vantage with vocational training, practical applications, and beneficial experiences.

Members of Union Township Lions, Richard Marbach and Duane Franz, are helping Vantage Construction Machinery Technology students assemble concrete picnic table foam.

Union Township Lions members Delil Grove, Richard Marbach, and Duane Franz work with junior students in construction machinery technology at the Vantage Career Center to provide educational support.
