Luka Doncic and Mavericks end Grizzlies win streak

Luka Doncic has 27 points and 12 rebounds in his 40th career triple-double as Dallas Mavericks beat Memphis 112-85 on Friday night to stop the Grizzlies franchise record streak in 11 games. Recorded 10 assists.

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 16 points, Jalen Brunson contributed 15 points, 9 assists, and Dallas’ career best 5 steals, who won their seventh victory in the last eight games. Mavericks surpassed Memphis 62-30 in the second half.

Marquese Chris also scored 15 points, Dwight Powell and Dorian Finney-Smith added 13 respectively, and Reggie Bullock scored 10 points and 9 rebounds for the Mavericks.

Ja Morant scored 19 points and 8 assists, while Desmond Bane scored 16 points as Memphis lost for the first time after losing to the Golden State Warriors 113-104 on December 23.

Warriors 138, Bulls 96

Jonathan Kuminga increased the pace of the six double figure scorers by scoring 25 points with a 10-12 shot.

The Bulls lost three out of four following nine consecutive wins. The Warriors, who lost four of the previous five, have won ten straight games against Chicago.

Jordan Poole (22 points), Andrew Wiggins (21) and Stephen Curry (19) helped the Warriors score the highest points of the season. Coby White led the Bulls with 20 points. Chicago’s Zach LaVine suffered a left knee injury in the first quarter and will undergo an MRI on Saturday, according to media reports.

Pistons 103, Raptors 87

Trey Lyles scored 21 points and recorded seven rebounds from the bench, with host Detroit defeating Toronto.

Cade Cunningham scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, and Hamidou Diallo achieved 6 rebounds with 18 points. Saddiq Bey contributed 15 points and Josh Jackson added 13 from the Detroit bench, keeping Toronto down to a 32.2 percent shot.

Fred VanVleet shot 21-6 from the field, but led the Raptors with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Pascal Siakam provided 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Sands 112, Pacers 94

Devin Booker scored 22 out of 35 points in the third quarter, while Deandre Ayton recorded 27 points and 12 rebounds, pushing Phoenix to Indiana in a biased incident in Indianapolis.

Booker has scored six high career points to lead Phoenix to his fifth victory in the last six games. Eighton made 12 out of 18 shots, and his only 3 points were the best total of the season, 1 point shy.

Justin Holiday scored 25 points and Caris LeVert added 20 points and 9 assists to the Pacers. The Pacers have lost nine of the last ten games in three consecutive games. Domantas Sabonis scored 14 points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.

76ers 111, Celtics 99

Joel Embiid visited Boston with Philadelphia’s eighth win in nine games, scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists.

Embiid shyly finished 5 points what would have been a 9-game winning streak with at least 30 points. This will break the franchise record shared with Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain of the Hall of Famers. Tyrese Maxey has added 23 points to Philadelphia.

Jaylen Brown scored 21 points and Jayson Tatum added 20 points and 11 boards to the Celtics.

Heat 124, Hawks 118

Tyler Herro scored 24 points, including a go-ahead free throw with 46 seconds remaining, and host Miami defeated Atlanta to extend their winning streak to four.

Jimmy Butler, who missed three games due to an ankle sprain, scored 23 points and 10 assists in Miami. PJ Tucker and Omayurtz Seven each scored 17 points. Max Strus added 16 points, all of which happened in the first quarter.

Atlanta scored 24 points and 9 assists from Trae Young, 20 points from De’Andre Hunter, 18 points from Danilo Gallinari and 16 points from John Collins. The Hawks lost four games in a row.

Cavaliers 114, Spurs 109

Darius Garland spent 32 points to keep the season at its best as he visited Cleveland to stop San Antonio.

Cavalier rose five in half, but Cedi Osman took the lead 104-103 after a free throw at 5:37. The two teams became scoreless for more than three minutes before a series of dunk shots by Cleveland Lauri Markkanen and Jarrett Allen provided the Cavaliers with a winning cushion.

Allen scored 17 points and 16 rebounds against the Cavaliers, who won four out of five games in a row for three on-going road trips. Dejounte Murray led the Spurs, who dropped in five consecutive games with 30 points and 14 rebounds.

Kings 126, Rocket 114

Marvin Bagley III hit a season high with 26 points and 13 rebounds, and De’Aaron Fox poured the game’s best 27 points when Sacramento overcame the slow start after visiting Houston.

Buddy Hield and Terence Davis scored seven 3 points and 33 points for Kings, who won two consecutive games after losing five games in a row.

Christian Wood led a balanced attack with 26 points against the Rockets, who lost 12 of the last 14 times.

Magic 116, Hornets 109

Moritz Wagner scored 26 points from the bench to support his brother’s strong outing when Orlando lost 10 games in a row by his unexpected host Charlotte.

Franz Wagner provided 19 points and 7 assists, and Gary Harris notched 18 points to help Magic finish the 6-game Roadskid.

LaMelo Ball’s 23 points and Miles Bridges’ 20 points were the Hornets’ top players who stopped four consecutive wins.
