Main Street Lorain-Morning Journal Hosting Two Community Events

Main Street Lorraine will host two events in downtown Lorraine over the next two weekends.

Main Street Lorain According to a news release, Christmas was held on July 24th at Burkroll in July along Broadway.

Participating individuals are encouraged to wear ugly and unique holiday gear and take a walk from bar to bar along Broadway.

The event takes place between 4 pm and 11 pm

Participating facilities include Broadway Mary’s, Scorcher’s Draft House, Old Town Charleston, Brass & Bronze, Union Town Provision, Boliken Juke Joint, GameOn Lorain, Doddy’s Dockside, and Ariel Sunset Rooftop Bar.

Participants will also be able to get a takeaway drink as long as they stay in the new designated outdoor refreshment area and use the DORA cup.

According to the release, on July 31st, Main Street Lorraine will host the production of Romeo and Juliet at the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival.

The event is free and open to the public and will take place at Black River Landing.

Participants are advised to arrive between 6:15 pm and 6:55 pm

The show starts immediately at 7pm and lasts for two hours.

Lawn chairs and blankets for seats are recommended.

People who come out to enjoy free play can bring food and drinks outside, but alcohol is not allowed, Release said.

“This is the first time the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival has been held in Lorraine in recent memory,” said Max Schaefer, executive director of Main Street Lorraine. “They have done a great job, and their work is top notch.

“Main Street Lorraine is very excited to partner with their organization this year. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a great performance.”

The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival brings professional, high-quality work to cities in northeastern Ohio each summer.
