The first flamingo eggs of the year arrived in May. According to zoo officials, flamingo hatching usually takes 27 to 31 days, so it is estimated that wobbled flamingo chicks will arrive in June. Flamingo chicks are nothing new at the zoo. Last year, several hatched in the summer months and joined the already impressive herd of the zoo. Zoo officials said the flamingo chicks were white and gray when hatched. It turned pink when he was about two years old, and the zoo tried to name the flamingo chicks. The zoo allowed the general public to vote for Facebook posts on Tuesday. With three name choices: Twiggy, Apple, and Pink, Twiggy eventually won the most votes from the general public.
