Body of 70-year-old man found Friday in Portage River
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said there were no signs of criminal activity. Investigators are withholding his name until his next of kin are notified.
The sheriff’s office reported that shortly after 2:00 p.m., someone found a man’s body near downtown Oak Harbor and called the Oak Harbor Police Department.
The crew pulled the man’s body out of the water and identified it. Investigators are withholding his name until his next of kin are notified.
The sheriff’s office said there were no signs of criminal activity. Further investigation is pending the results of the autopsy.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene with assistance from Oak Harbor Police, Ottawa County Coroner’s Office, Mid-County Paramedic’s Office and Portage Fire Department.
