National Night Out returns to central Toledo

National Night Out offers games, activities, free food and more.

Toledo, Ohio — The Toledo Police Department and Toledo Fire and Rescue Team are working together to build relationships with community members and first responders.

national night out It takes place on Tuesdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Frederick Douglass Community Center in downtown Toledo on Indiana Avenue. Due to the pandemic, the event was not held in his 2020 and 2021. For the first time since 2019, afternoons of games and activities are back.

Visitors can expect an afternoon filled with activities planned for both children and adult community members. Included features include free meals, bouncy houses, activities for kids, rock climbing, resource tables, police and fire department demonstrations, and more.

After seeing so many Toledo youth die in violence, organizers see this as the right event at the right time. and participate in activities with community members.

Organizers hope the event will foster stronger ties between Toledo’s neighborhood residents and the city’s police and fire departments.

This event is in partnership with Toledo Metroparks and the Toledo Lucas County Public Library.
