New fresh market, charity pharmacy opens in Linden

The new market is located at the old Eagle Market on 1464 Cleveland Avenue at the intersection of Chittenden Avenue.

The Columbus-Linden district of Ohio welcomed the community with a new fresh food market and philanthropic pharmacy on Monday.

The food market and pharmacies serve as a source of free fresh food and pharmacy services in the Linden area. Until the store opened on Monday, the Linden community had restricted access to healthy foods.

The new market is located at the old Eagle Market on 1464 Cleveland Avenue at the intersection of Chittenden Avenue.

Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginser attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“The pledge to revitalize this precious part of the Columbus district was foretold by Columbus Next Generation. Their leadership from refurbishment to opening is to revive a poorly serviced but vibrant community. It’s a testament to their vision, “Ginser said.

This market is run by Community Development for All (CD4AP), a charitable pharmacy in Central Ohio, and a national pediatric hospital.

Rev. John Edgar, Executive Director of CD4AP, said:

We invested $ 1 million in CD4AP nationwide and used it in the South Linden community. Of that amount, $ 450,000 was put on the market.

“We are pleased to work with what we believe will be a transformative community resource that will change the daily lives of many Linden families and residents,” said Kirt Walker, CEO across the country. ..

The market will open on the following dates and times.

  • Tuesday: 12-4 pm
  • Wednesday: 2 pm to 6 pm
  • Thursday: 12-4 pm
  • Friday: 12-4 pm
  • Saturday: 10 am-1pm
