One dead in Barberton garage fire

Barberton, Ohio (WJW) – Man killed in garage fire Barberton early Friday morning.

according to Barberton Fire Departmenta fire broke out in the 400 block of Worcester Road North at about 7:50 am.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found the victim in the garage.

Police said the man was taken to Akron General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The coroner said the victim was identified as David E. Garrett, a 56-year-old male. His autopsy was performed on Friday.

The fire was extinguished and extinguished by 8:11 a.m., police said.

The Summit County coroner and the Ohio Fire Marshal are investigating the fire.

No other injuries were reported.
