O beats Yankees in 8th inning

Pinch-hitter Gunnar Henderson hit a two-run double in the seventh inning trailing Baltimore’s eight runs in the Orioles’ 9-6 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday night.

The Orioles beat Nestor Cortez and Jimmy Cordero (3-2), scoring five points in the seventh inning before an out was recorded, and won their 10th victory in 14 games. With the first six batters on base, Adam Frazier knocked out Cortez with a three-run homer that hit the right field foul pole.

Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and Zach Neto all hit home runs and Tyler Anderson pitched six strong innings to give Los Angeles a third straight win against Boston in Anaheim, California.

It was the 26th time Trout and Ohtani hit home runs in the same game. Trout sank the 362nd long ball of his career to move past Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio for 85th on the all-time list.

Host nation Philadelphia overcame a two-run lead in the ninth inning to give Arizona the win before Alec Bohm hit a walk-off single in the 10th.

Bohm gave the Phillies their third win in 10 games after a 2-out, 2-run home run by Trea Turner tied the score at 5-5 in the ninth inning. Craig Kimbrel (3-1) won the 10th inning with no runs scored.

Diamondbacks Jose Luis came out in the ninth and took two outs quickly, but allowed Bryson Stott’s single before Turner’s tying home run. Lewis (1-1) also hit Boehm’s winning single.

White Sox 6, Guardians 0

Michael Kopech scored five in the fourth, giving them all the support they needed to get off to a great start, and Chicago defeated hosts Cleveland to win three straight rubber matches.

Tampa Bay ace Shane McClanahan (8-0) allowed just one run, four hits and no walks in seven innings while striking out seven. Luke Larry and Jose Siri hit home runs for the Rays.

Alex Cole hit a two-run double and a single, Trevor Williams pitched in the sixth, and hosts Washington beat San Diego to even the three straight games.
