A teenage boy was killed when a buggy pulled by his Amish horse was attacked from behind by a minivan in northeastern Ohio, according to a post on the Ohio Highway Patrol. The accident occurred on Saturday at around 6:30 pm on Route 322 of Windsor Township. In Ashtabura County. The buggy was heading east along the shoulder of the freeway when it hit an eastern minivan driven by Stephen Mares, 53 of Newberry Township. A buggy passenger, Middlefield’s Norman De Twiler, 16, was declared dead on the scene, and Mares was treated in the hospital for an injury that was not considered life-threatening. No other injuries have been reported from the accident. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
