Ohio State University CJ Stroud Wins Third Big Ten Freshman This Week

Freshmen in red shirts completed 17 of the 23 passes at 330 yards, making five of their career’s best touchdowns.

Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio State University Quarterback CJ Stroud was named to the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.

Stroud, who was unable to play against Akron due to a shoulder injury, returned to the Backeyes match against Rutgers.

Freshmen in red shirts completed 17 of the 23 passes at 330 yards, making five of their career’s best touchdowns.

Stroud was previously a freshman this week following a match between Minnesota and Oregon.

Treveyon Henderson and quarterback Kyle McCord’s running backs were honored for their performances against Tulsa and Akron, respectively.

With four starts, Stroud leads the Big Ten in passer rating per game (323.3), quarterback rating (181.8) and touchdown pass (13).

He is 6th in the quarterback rating and 10th in the touchdown pass.
