portage countyOhio (WJW) — Several lanes have reopened after a major accident on the Ohio Turnpike.
State officials reported that all three lanes of the Ohio Turnpike were closed at eastbound milepost 202 in Windham, Portage County, due to a traffic accident Wednesday around 10 p.m.
As of Thursday morning, the left and center eastbound lanes had reopened. The right eastbound lane was expected to open Thursday afternoon.
All westbound lanes have reopened.
According to a press release, three commercial vehicles were involved in the accident, all of which have now been removed from the scene.
An Ohio Turnpike spokesperson told FOX 8 News one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of the accident, severe storms and the possibility of a tornado caused extensive damage in the area.
