One person died after crash at US33

Columbus, Ohio — One person died Thursday afternoon after multiple vehicles collided on US Route 33 on South Hamilton Road in southeastern Columbus.

Columbus police said they were called to the area around 4:45 pm due to a collision of three vehicles. Police do not know how many cars were involved in the collision at this time.

Police say one vehicle turned over and ignited in the area.

One was taken to the Grant Medical Center in a life-threatening state and later died. According to police, another person was taken to Mount Carmel East in a “stable” state.

US 33 has been closed in the area and it is unknown when it will be reopened due to police investigations.
