Columbus, Ohio (W.C.M.H.) — One person died after falling from the stands at Ohio Stadium during Ohio State University's graduation ceremony Sunday afternoon.
An Ohio State spokesperson confirmed that one person fell from the stadium stands near the bell tower during the graduation ceremony and that police and emergency personnel remained at the scene.
A university spokesperson said counseling and other resources are available to those affected by the incident.
Ohio State University's spring 2024 graduation ceremony began at noon and ended by 3 p.m., a university spokesperson said, adding that the incident did not affect graduation procedures.
Some who left the graduation ceremony were met by police tape and campus police and first responders at the scene.
